Preferences for Rest Stop

Me thinks that it would be wise for us to look for an overnight area about 110 miles into the journey so we get a head start on the herd and don't have to expend as much energy the second day when we are sore. What say you?

i think that's a great idea CNN Freak! (so glad to be let in on your inside jokes from highschool) :)

I like the idea of thinking that we have less to do on the second day than the first day.

We also think that Chehalis is a good spot since it has a great park for tent camping, swimming and showering. We would be on our own to find meals, unless we could gab some volunteers to stake out an area for us all to stay that night, cook meals, etc. While Napavine is appealing due to its being further in and having less cyclists staying there--the highschool is 3 miles off route and up a sprawling climb of a hill (doesn't sound bad? just wait till that night!)

Christy and her friend were the support team for Ben, Phil, Chris and I when we rode the STP a couple years back. She mentioned that the park at Chehalis begins to really get full at noon and thereafter--so a support crew would make sure that we're set whereas real estate is concerned... If we don't use a support crew--we can have the STP trucks deliver our luggage to the parks--though we would be certain to not get a large space, but several small ones.

Sounds like a good spot Jer - especially since we don't have to ride up another hill! Have we found any volunteers yet? I'm going to start asking around.

HA! have we found volunteers?! That's a funny question considering OUR group. Not only am I sure we have plenty of volunteers but I think they will have no problem driving ahead and getting us a spot to stay and even getting food together. We won't really need them to SAG for us after all. So I think we should assume that we will send our volunteers ahead and they will take care of camping sights and food...that does leave massages though...hmm, who will do those? That's what we really need, volunteers that are massage therapists...hehe.
